Promised Land

Promised Land

Photo of some ladies on the land.

We have been able to purchase a large site of land amongst the 64 tribal villages whom we are working amongst. We believe God has provided for this place to be a blessing to many people;it is a site with great potential.

The land is beautiful, with surrounding hills and a very tranquil atmosphere. It was in need of some work to tidy it up so throughout the winter diggers have been at work removing stones, clearing land and making the area level as well as fencing it. It was great to see water supply established with the digging of three bore wells. We had our first event on the land at Christmas. It's great to be already using the land for large events. Our vision for the land is big, but one of our main priorities is training. The villagers are mostly uneducated and one of our first requirements is to raise up people with both skills and a heart to reach the poor, equipped to work with the projects. So we are plannng to establish a training centre, with accommodation, classrooms, resources as well as facilities for holding larger events/courses such as pastors conferences, women's training.

We envisage the land being used to expand our children’s work, especially when the smaller children’s home needs to become larger, for a school and for kid’s clubs. We also hope that in the future community health and medical work can begin. As tribal people often receive second class care, if any at all, there is a great need for provding health services, as a research study we carried out in the area showed.
